So today is the last week of my latest semester in the MBA program. Why do you ask did I sign up for an MBA program with a newborn on the way? Well, I figured that if I was going to do it, the timing would be better to do it now when she's not old enough to be upset when daddy's not home for 12+ hours two nights a week. But then again, after looking at my latest student loan bill, maybe a better reason would be to start getting her used to daddy not being home for 12+ hours a day once I have to take that second job to pay my student loan payments. :)
Seriously, I have it figured that by the time I send my last student loan payment in to finally call those nice pieces of paper hanging on the wall mine, I will be 5-7 years from starting Social Security payments. Now I might be wrong, but that sounds just a bit crazy. But then again, the education will be with me for a lifetime, so why not take the payments along with it.
Maybe I can start riding a bike to work and moving the extra money from gas to pay on my student loan?? But what about my daughter's college expenses? What about the fact that my wife works 2x as much as I do and doesn't get paid at all? My grandfather used to say that money is not everything, but it sure makes everything more convenient.
I enjoy non-profit organizations and their causes. I found one at my school called Inches International. It is always interesting to see how just a few people, even college students, can make such a difference when they put their minds to it. I think I'll buy me one of the bands to show support.
