Up until last night I thought the worst sound you could wake up to would be the alarm clock the first Monday back after Spring Break, but I was wrong.
At 1:30 last night my family was jarred awake by the sound of our alert radio informing us that a child had been reported missing. Gladly I was able to look over into the crib and see that it was not mine, but I have to say that I stayed awake for a while thinking about it.
I remember being a student at IU when Jill went missing. The whole campus was talking about it. But even as the campus moved on the parents and friends were still there looking. I saw an ad on the back of some cupon mailer that talked about a child that went missing back in the 1970's. I can't even imagine what it would be like to be looking that long.
God be with the children who are lost, and bless those that scour the earth in search of them...
